Handmade for someone Special

On the last day of year 2012, I would like to share this photo with all of you. Her name is Shijia , she came to me on the last Saturday for the miniature clay food making lesson. This was  her first time making  miniature birthday cake for her love one.

This miniature birthday cake is full with her blessings, love and joy. A very unique birthday present to someone you really, really love because this sweet little handmade miniature birthday cake takes her 2.5 hrs to finish.

What does handmade mean to you?  To me, is all about love, warmth and care. When someone crafts, they not only input their attention , energy but also their love and warmth.  Also, when you craft, your unique energy is not only good for your body and also soothing your spirit and soul .

Thank you for supporting my handmade miniature creations and all handmade products.

Thank you so much, I wish all of you a Happy New Year for 2013...may the year ahead be filled with peace ,love, joy and fulfillment.

I am looking forwards to post/share my new handmade miniature series/ creations in the coming year.

Play Dough (2)

Play dough is soft and very flexible . You can use them to make miniature items very easily. I use play dough to teach my senior citizens student to make miniature craft work. They enjoy very much.  They used play dough and made all these cute little mini handbags during their lessons . I collected all of them and make a simple handbag shop for them.

I used play dough to made this miniature Elmo handbag to show them.

These miniature handbags are handmade by average age 65+ senior citizens.

I made the simple handbag house for them to placed their miniature bags.

Very colourful miniature handbags.

She (80+) is one of the senior students who created those miniature bags.

Tomorrow is Christmas Day. Here, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

I have made this miniature ginger bread house or candy house to celebrate this coming Christmas.  I spent a week to finish it . It is a very cute little house with snow and lot of candy and pastries. Hope you like it.

I like snow so much, so I put a lot of fake snow at my miniature ginger bread house.

Which is your favourite miniature items among all?

The miniature pink bear I have made few months ago  is cute and is the right size for the mini house too.

From the size of my hand, you can tell how big  the miniature snow house is.

This is the top view.

Miniature Cupcake

I love dessert so much and it is always never enough. My first collection of miniature figurines is a miniature cake.

You can create over 1000 of  ideas for sweet dessert once you know the basic skill of making it. Recently I have made these cupcakes.

The fake cream is very difficult to handle

Need to prepare many types of topping as you do not know when and which you are using next.

You can find this size of real cup cakes in some cupcake shop. But these are my handmade clay cupcakes for display only~

Miniature white Christmas Bear

We always think of white polar bear, what about a white bear? a miniature white bear.
I did this miniature white bear together with a miniature Christmas tree this morning.  Hope to bring some Christmas feel!

I use soft white clay to make the miniature bear and soft dark green to make the mini tree.

This is pure white soft clay, so any tiny little dot will make the colour dirty, need to be very careful.

I joined the  3 pieces of 2D Christmas tree to form one.

The size is very small , just about the length of a tooth pick.

Clay Sculpture (2)

I spent 6 weeks to finish this clay sculpting- Joker. This is my first time using oven bake clay to sculpture a human head in this big size, so every single wrinkle needs to sculpture too.

This is my handmade oven bake clay sculpture: Joker, my first piece of oven bake creation.

The height of this Joker sculpture is about 20cm x 15cm. I have over baked one of the eye ball, and become black in colour.  Over all I am very satisfied with it as this is the first time making such a detailed face sculpture. although he looks a bit too old and thin! (Ha ha ha....) Well, I am sure I will improve  if I got time to make another one again.

This is the original colour, paints is needed to change him into a colour sculpture . this will take me another 2 weeks to make it.

This is the side view of Joker/ I do not want to spend too much time on his hair. You can drawn fine lines on his hair but it will take longer time to finish the whole piece.

The jacket is not beautifully done.

This is the back view of Joker sculpture

I will try to make some famous characters or people in a smaller size and different way by using this type of clay . By the way, this clay I am using is really , really very hard to knead and press.

Never stop learning and trying new thing.so,  Let's  Start! Have Fun! Be HappyBe Creative!
