Welcome, The year of The Snake (1)

欢迎蛇年的到来!

This year, I celebrate my Chinese New Year with this cute little 公仔 (doll). I have made many different types of clay 公仔 and snakes . They have different expressions on their faces, and they are one and only one in the world.

I made these clay doll on a stick. It is quite difficult to make a doll on a stick. Well, you can also poke the stick into the finished figurines if you want too. What you see below are make onto the stick directly. I used air dry clay not flour to make these 公仔

Welcome year of Snake! All my handmade clay figurines!

I like to make clay girl wawa as I can  create their hair style.

I make the snake in a different way as snake to some one is a dangerous reptile. I want them to look cute!

I like these 2 cute little clay girl 公仔.

Show you more of my clay little 公仔 on my next blog.

Miniature Teochew Pastry (Piah)

Tranditional Teochew pastries and cakes are getting lesser and lesser in Singapore. I am a Teochew , just like other Singaporeans , I can also speak Hokkien and Cantonese. My parents  used to buy Teochew pastries and cakes  used as offerings to God when I was young . Now, I buy these pastries and
cakes for my mum just for fun snacking.

I would like to try to make a series of miniature Teochew Piah (cake) in the future.  Below show my handmade miniature Teochew cakes. (the first 2 photos showed the miniature piah without varnish)

You can always see some red Chinese character on top of a Tranditional Teochew Piah( cakes ). I use the Chinese word "福“(fu) : blessing

You can't made a same item twice when it is  handmade, these 3 miniature Teoches cakes look similar but not the same, especially the colour. it is quite difficult to get back the same colour, I try my best.

Well,I cut the piah into half and  put some fake dao sa (red bean paste) into it.

Miniature Noodles

Miniature Mee/Noodles is one of my favourite item that I like to make. Below show some of my recently made miniature mee-pok and hokkien mee.

In my real life, noodles/mee is also my favourite food. So when I make miniature noodles, I will make the one that I use to eat.

I make the noodles/mee one by one, I do not use any machine to make them. So it needs a lot of  Patience,  absolute control over your thoughts, focus only on noodles.

The size of this miniature mee-pok is the most popular item among all miniature items that I have sell.

This is the miniature vegetarian noodles, all veggie , very healthy.

Miniature Sliced Cake

Never never get enough of cake , I mean miniature cakes. Once I started to make one piece of miniature cake, I cannot stop to make the 2nd, 3rd until all my clay is dried or used out.

Make a nice miniature gift box for all my handmade miniature sliced cakes. Yummy.....

I wanted to make 2 miniature sliced cakes and end up 8 pieces.

Miniature cake needs a lot of icing and topping, so if you do not prepare /pre-made them, your cake will look very simple.

I like to make different design of miniature sliced cake, it really fun!

Handmade a nice miniature gift box also needs time, you can see this miniature box is not so nice as I did it very fast , I want to put the cakes inside to see the effect, the actual length and height of the box.

These are my handmade miniature gift boxes in different sizes.

All my favourite cakes.

Miniature Chibiko (1)

Happy New Year! Welcome 2013!

I am so happy to share my new handmade miniature wawa series with you on the first day of year 2013.
I named them miniature Chibiko, chibi means cute in Japanese and ko means kid.  So you can call them cute little kids.

I love them very much.  My handmade miniature chibiko is about 4 to 5 cm in height. They have different expressions on their face, different hair styles and fashion.  You can customize your chibiko too. Just email me your request and I take about a week to finish the order.

My handmade miniature Chibiko, Lina  and Gary

Chibiko Lina is a lady who likes pink colour  so much.

I take quite a long time to think how to make these miniature dolls look cute in different expression.  I have not applied  vanish on these chibiko yet because they look a bit different  with glossy face. So it depends on individual to put or not to  put varnish.   I will share more of my handmade miniature Chibiko   once I have finished.
