Play Dough (5): Miniature Flower Shop

Below showed a miniature flower shop done by my Ah Ma (senior ) students (average age 65 and above)
I teach them once a week and now they become very capable of making miniature figurines.  For the past few weeks we made different kinds of  miniature flowers and form a shop like this.

All these miniature flowers are made by age 65 and above Ah Ma, the oldest is 85+

They also made some mini cactus. Well, I help them to decorate the mini flower shop.

Make at least 5 or 6 stalks of the same flower and place them in a mini vase, they will look very pretty when placing altogether.

Look from the top view

These miniature flowers are made of play dough and they are really very small.

Miniature Fruit Basket

Making miniature fruits is actually very challenging , especially making the miniature durian and grapes.
These two items really take up a lot of time. I used about 2 hrs (that's why I seldom make miniature durian) to finish the durian showed below..

Apples, oranges, banana, kiwi, these are very good miniature fruits that go well with the basket

I made the miniature clay melon so that the mini basket looks more colourful

The mini thorn is so difficult to stick onto the body of the durian, especially it is so small!  I need more practice in order to make those thorns look straight on the body.

As most of the fruits are orange and yellow in colour so adding some other colours like red, green will make the whole basket look nicer.

My handmade miniature apples, oranges , banana and mango

Below showed some of my custom made miniature fruits.

Miniature High Tea

In Singapore, it is very common to see people sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of tea at our favourite high tea spots. I have made this miniature high tea set is because I myself love high tea too..

What do you usually eat during high tea? I always choose a cup of hot drink like cappuccino or mocha or just black coffee, than I will take some cakes to go with my drink.

This miniature high tea set is very mini, I made the tray and placed every thing on. I also made the round transparent plate .

Feel hungry?

Enjoy my handmade miniature high tea set.

I have made so many miniature cooling beverages below... to cool you down!!
Do you think a hot beverage will  keep you body stay cool  on a hot and dry day? It does but  I think most of us will choose a cooling beverages instead of a hot drinks during a hot summer day!!

My handmade miniature beverages: I made my own "glasses" too.....

Which beverage/drink will you choose to drink on a hot sunny day?

I love all these mini cute handmade beverages: orange juice, strawberry juice and kiwi juice.

Clay Food Replicate: Fake King Fish & Curry Chicken

These are done by request, live size fake fried fish with clay broccoli and clay carrots and curry chicken.  As you can see they are not the same because I made them one by one without using any molds.

My handmade clay food models: Fried Kingfish with veggies and Curry Chicken (below)

I like this type of fish as they are boneless , easy to eat but not these two because these 2 fish are fake .

My handmade food model: Clay King Fish

My handmade clay food model : Curry Chicken (not completed yet)

Compare to the first one I made before, they are similar to each other but different as they are shaped out pieces by pieces by hand so it is impossible to get back the same one.

Mother & Daughter

Here is Adeline and her daughter! They have great fun during their miniature clay art lesson this Monday .
It is very rare that  parents and children learning  the miniature clay food making lesson together.

If your kid is only 7-9 years old, it is good to learn together as the parents will know how to teach their kids when they go back home.

No matter what types of clay you are using, once you know the basic technique  it is always fun to play with them! Have Fun with Clay!! I love miniature!!

So cute!! A very happy mother and her daughter.

Their master pieces. Miniature cake and pastries.
