Miniature courses

Z and her friends came for the miniature basic lesson last week. I haven't seen her for quite a long time but she and her friends still remember most of the technique that  I taught her last time.

Below are their master piece.

(PS: the fruits are not stick to each other so look a bit messy.)

Below is done by M , a food blogger in Sin. By the time she finishes all her miniature lessons (basic and intermediate), I am sure she can make her favourite food without any problems .

Dear all,
I have done a little bit changes in  my miniature basic course, those who are interested please email me for the "menu".

How to make Kai kou Xiao (开口笑)

Do you know there is a dish named kai kou xiao ((开口笑) ? My friend said it made you happy after eating it, that's why these small little ball name 开口笑 ! I love it!

Here are some of the steps to make 开口笑 :

1. Roll a small light brown ball

2. apply some clear glue on the surface of the ball

3. Sprinkle white sand (  if you can find light brown sand) onto the ball
4. Cut a cross at the top of the ball (show below)

I made a super mini 开口笑 that's why I used art sand. You can make a bigger one. Try it yourself , it is very simple.

Mini Chicken Rice Bendo

Tomorrow (5th April)  is Qing Ming Festival. Remember to bring some offerings to your ancestors.

I love this mini bento very much because it is very cute. I bought the empty bendo box which is made of plastic( I forgot where I bought it and it is so small that I forgot where I kept and I just found it recently!)
I handmade the mini chicken rice and placed them inside the box, it looks really good and cute.
PS: you can also make your own bendo box with hard paper but you really need a lot of patience as the box is very small.
